My Portable Pool as begun to discolor..
…and grow scaly on the top of the to rail….what’s going on?
A. The Process is called…
…Cornification and happens when Acidic water (water who’s pH is too low) is splashed up to the top of the pool and is left to dry there. The acidic left over of the water combine with the virulent summer sun to begin to change the soft material into a scaly hard and discolored material. Left untended this can eventually lead to pool failure.
1. First and foremost if you monitor your pH and keep it within acceptable ranges (7.2 – 7.6) this problem will not occur.
2. Keep your pool covered (after wiping the the top ledge down)
3. If this process has already started, slice vacuum hoses down the center longways and they will clamp along the top rail protecting your top rail from the sun and water at all times.
