Legacy New Advanced Technology Above Ground Pools

Liner

With Legacy Pools the liner and the pool are one, there is never any need to repair or replace a Legacy Liner. 35 mil thick with embedded 1000 denier bullet proof liner insert. This makes The Legacy Liner very puncture resistant. Special plasticizers keep it flexible in freezing temperatures and anti uv coatings that can stand up to desert heat There

Assembly:

Project time, two to three hours. No small parts, no tools required. The frame work slides into the pool body and connects to each other with pressure pins, and once connected they are solid.  All this pool needs is flat firm level ground and with one or two helpers you can be up and swimming in no time. Definitely the best part of these pools

Movability

Any time, any where. Takes down as easy as it sets up with no hassle

Usability

These pools have been proven tough enough to handle anything from rowdy kids, to manta rays and sharks to lions. We’ve even had one used for dropping helicopters into.

Where It Can Be Used

Indoors, Outdoors, Warehouses, Trade Shows, Retail Show Rooms – anywhere!

Customization

We can make these pools any size or shape you need, at no extra cost.

Replacement Parts

While very rarely needed since these pools have very few and Legacy Pools has been around for almost 30 years, they are easy to come by. Just call us

Durability

When we developed these pools in the mid 1990’s we put a 30 year warranty  on these pools and most are still up and rocking. We don’t get a lot of return business on these pools because they last forever!

Liner

Thin one layer 20-25mil liner that is susceptible to puncture, tearing,  pinhole leaks (which will cause rust spot on the pool) wrinkles creases and invasion by fungal  matter. No matter how long the pool warranty is, the liner will have to be replaced every 5 years or so, in a long and detailed process.  And do not let your dogs swim in these pools.

Assembly

Projected time, two – three days, many little parts and assembly instructions that read like a Chinese menu.  Each part must be done to the manual or the pool could fail. You can only assemble these pools  in warm weather as the liner installation requires the liner to be heated, this is always the most trouble some part of the install and its very hard to remove wrinkles and creases

Movability

Forget about it.  Once they are in place they are almost impossible to move correctly

Usability

Because of the thin vinyl liner this pool is only suggested for use with people, and kids only under supervision, the walls may be made of steel but the liner is very thin and vulnerable

Where It Can Be Used

Outdoors on dirt that is carefully prepared and leveled. Grass must be removed and sand laid

Customization

These pools only come in a set number of sizes and only in rounds and ovals

Replacement Parts

Hope you kept your manual because that is the only way you are going to tell the difference between a #6a screw and a #8a screw. Assuming the guys who made it are still in business.

Durability

As noted previously these pools do come with a long warranty, however the liners do need to be replaced often and the shiny exteriors soon become dull and rusty.

5 Things The Above Ground Pool Industry Does Not Want you To Know

You might be seeing some killer deals on old fashioned steel above ground pools these days, Well There is a reason…..5 to be exact

1. They are a pain to assemble and wrinkled liners.

They are not all that hard to put together but they are a challenge to put together right.  So many issues , so many potential problems and if you don’t get it just right your backyard dream will be a nightmare. And so called professional pool installers are no answer. We hear more negative feedback about these “professionals” that we have stopped referring them. So if you want leaky and wrinkled liners possible pool failures and all sorts of nightmares….these steel pools well let you have it.

2. Liner replacement

So you bought a pool with a 50 year warranty.  You were  aware that your warranty does cover the liner. Because of this you could be replacing it ever few years. and going through the same installer nightmare all over again. These 20 and 25 mil liners as they are advertised can be as thin as fifteen mill in some places.  And finding a leak in  an above ground pool liner is like finding a needle in a haystack

3. Lumpy Bottoms Pinhole leaks and rust spots

First of All In a typical pool installation sand is used at the bottom, and sand has some unique properties.  It moves and therefore  causes lumpy bottom pools and the dirt just loves to gather in those depression. Above all Also sand loves static electricity and will happily stick to the pool wall while you install the liner.   over a couple of years that little grain of sand will cause a pinhole leak in the liner, causing a tiny rust spot to develop on the pool. get enough of these and your lovely pool wall starts looking like a acne ridden teenagers face.

4  Replacement parts and warranty satisfaction

.As your pool gets to be about five years old you will notice the acrylic parts are starting to crack from exposure to the extreme cold and heat that a year can put them through. And you will want to replace those. But good luck doing that.  Because pool companies have been bought and sold so many times, that you don’t even know if your pool’s manufacturers are going to be around in 5 years.   It is noteworthy that even if you can locate them and get them to answer the phone, getting them to honor their warranties almost takes a lawyer.

5. 60 year old technology.

Steel wall above ground pools were developed soon after World War II and because of that nothing has really changed about them.  Rust, Leaking around the plumbing fittings, blowouts at the bottom of the pools, difficulty services and cleaning.  Hence these will usually turn these pools into green frog ponds in a year or two as the owner soon becomes disillusioned with the idea of pool ownership and the family dream of the backyard vacation spot fades into the memories of summers past
